It is not for me to say a dictionary is wrong. In the east we call them dwott... I think... But if the western mob called it djaawit, what were they referring to? Maybe, there was some property or other that was djaa...wit.... or wurt.... making one wurt to leave... maybe... ?? or making what ever it was making go away... for the york gum has some medicinal properties...
