The Mighty Southern Ocean

Yep...that deep dark blue... I wonder what our great grandmother's thought from their migrant boats and sail as they stared into such a sea...and the depths below them...I look at this photo...and the granite grey, and ponder on the age...imagine what ages has this rock seen...what winds, waves and ocean...?? An ancient being worn by the wind and ages...

Brave souls indeed...

Awesome day spent in the elements - made us feel truly alive...I wonder if that's what our ancestors felt?

Maybe they did...when their feet hit the shore - overjoyed to have made it out alive :)

Great photo. The sea was spectacular in Denmark too, we watched it for ages.

My longest period at sea was only an 8 day sea voyage in a 42 ft yacht from Albany to Adelaide, but I can confirm that when I stepped off that yacht I never felt more alive in my life!! I was on a high for the next week. It was one of the best experiences in my life but I wouldn't do it again. I can't imagine a longer journey, that really was long enough.
